The international Tamai Foundation was set up by Ankie van de Camp in 2002. Its initial objective was
to exhibit art and craft works mainly from non-Western cultures and to show its beauty and diversity.
Gradually the activities have broadened into setting up and managing national and international art and
cultural projects. In collaboration with like-minded others, new initiatives are taken such as publishing
articles and books and education. See under projects and www.artsandorg.nl

The Foundation is named after
the - in 1995 deceased -
Bushmen artist Tamai

Kalahari Dessert in Botswana.
He was a multi-talent. With his
